24th St. btw 6th and 7th Ave.
Thankfully this bar is better than “one starâ€, although it would make writing this much easier!  It’s a dimly lit bar that basically has about a dozen or so spots at the bar, and everyone else hangs out behind you against the wall or in a back room…so a regular bar basically.  Has access to the hotel, so you’ll get a mix of guests and locals.  Couple of TV’s, friendly staff, above average beers at slightly above average prices, taste fine.
St. Mark’s Pl. btw 1st and 2nd Ave.
I’m sure by the time this is posted it will be under another name, as it was Holiday Cocktail, etc. within the past couple of years.  Nothing has really changed about it, still two floors, very eclectic scenery and patrons, average and above average beers at average prices, taste alright.
2nd Ave. and 85th St.
Used to be a restaurant, and now it’s a bar…so there.  Decent sized space with a horseshoe bar, lots of columns to knock and space to be knocked into, so try and grab a tall table by the window.  Or head upstairs where there is more seating, but they really pack ’em in!  Average and above average beers at slightly above average prices, taste fine.
