St. Mark’s Pl. btw 1st Ave. and Ave. A
Nice spot on St. Mark’s that’s definitely quieter than it’s neighbors. Long bar that usually has an open spot, crowd is late 20’s to early 30’s and slightly hipster, and the service is friendly. Above average beers at above average prices, taste fine.
St. Marks Pl. btw 2nd and 3rd St.
Might be my least favorite of the bar arcade franchise, mainly because the games aren’t the best. Otherwise it’s, a long, narrow bar, dark, filled to the brim with college (of age, of course) kids, average beers at average prices in plastic cups, taste fine.
Editor’s Note: They got TMNT, so the bar has been raised…
2nd Ave. btw 12th and 13th St.
Head down a flight of stairs to this quiet horseshoe bar that I feel most people miss as they walk down 2nd Ave. Just a nice spot for a drink and to feel relaxed. Not much else to say except the service is very friendly, average and above average beers at average prices, taste fine.
Chrystie St. btw Delancey and Broome St.
I mean, the title says it all, a sports bar on the Lower East Side, which is not something you see a lot of. Head up a flight of steps to a pretty spacious bar with plenty of TV’s showing just about everything. Crowd is young, service is fine, average beers at average prices, taste fine.
Aaand apparently it closed before I could post! I guess it pays to not be lazy…I guess.
