2nd Ave. and 81st St.

Quiet cocktail bar that, while hosting a young to early 30’s crowd, has patrons looking for a quiet drink mingling with people just wandering down 2nd Ave. before hitting the next spot.  Space is slightly small, service is good, mostly tables to sit at, menu has lots of the same cocktail options, all at average cocktail prices, taste fine.

Stone Rose (Time Warner Center)

Used to be called the Stone Rose, and out of the two bars up here (“up here” meaning vertically within the building), this one is probably my least favorite of the two.  Crowd is a mixed bag, mostly an older mixed bag, seating is usually reserved, but there’s a decent amount of space at the bar with some standing table room behind it.  Cocktails are on the menu at above cocktail prices, taste alright.

Lafayette St. btw Grand and Hester St.

Nice after work spot that is good for that crowd, because if you don’t get here right after work, you’re not going to be comfortable in here.  There is a lot of seating, but little to no standing room, and the bar area is too tight to linger.  Crowd is young, there can be lines outside due to aforementioned overcrowding, cocktails are the specialty here, cocktail prices, taste pretty good.
