Between Brick Lane and Houston on First Avenue, there isn’t much to do beside smoke hookah, so when a bar plants itself in the middle, you hope for the best. Close but no cigar. In the vein of hipster bars inundating anything with half a mile of the L train, we’re given this huge bar downtown. No regular taps here, just your standard local Brooklyn basement brewer’s concoctions. There wasn’t much going on in the way of a crowd, even at 1 in the morning. Pints were your average microbrew prices ($7-ish) and tasted generic.
